What is gluten intolerance?

Gluten intolerance symptomsGluten intolerance,  is characterized by a negative reaction of the immune system when a person consumes products containing gluten.

When the immune system destroys part of the inner wall of the small intestine, which is normally able to absorb certain nutrients (folic acid, calcium, iron, proteins, vitamins, etc..) several symptoms may accompany gluten intolerance.

There are a large spectrum of gluten sensibility conditions that can affect you.  The only treatment currently known is to maintain a strict diet completely free of gluten. After 6 to 12 months, people with gluten intolerance usually see their symptoms disappear, their blood tests improve as a result of healing damage the walls of the small intestine.

Gluten intolerance unsupported may eventually lead to different consequences including osteoporosis, neurological complications, infertility and even the formation of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cancer), cancer of the esophagus or intestines.
